We are interested in engaging an eager and well rounded Assistant Product Manager that will be responsible for the following:

Reporting to the Director of Product Management and working closely with Marketing and Product Development teams, the Assistant Product Manager will provide leadership and support for the proposals for the advancement of our new product development. We are seeking a well organized, collaborative Assistant Product Manager to support the execution of product plans that will achieve our marketing objective of becoming the brand of choice among Residential, Commercial and Industrial users across North America. The successful candidate will use their prior marketing experience to be part of the team that takes an ambitious product plan through our Product Development process.

 

Responsibilities

New Product Development

Support proposals of new product line up which will achieve all company objectives as defined in the Marketing Plan. Ensure the “business case” for all new products is defined and documented through the Product Development Process system. Fully evaluate and investigate all opportunities from a user perspective. Understand the ID requirements and brief the assigned design resource to achieve the target

Market Knowledge and Competitive Analysis

  • Understand and communicate the market dynamics in each category
  • Utilize the competitive analysis and other tools to become an expert on all key competitive products and recommend a product strategy to compete in those segments

Product Knowledge

  • Support and improve the knowledge base within the company. Ensure accuracy of all information throughout the process

Sales Support

  • Work collaboratively with Sales to understand customer requirements, opportunities in the marketplace and issues regarding products

Customer Satisfaction

  • Ensure all products are designed with the customer in mind. Support Marketing Communication, Business Development and Customer Service where required to solve issues related to company products and incorporate learning into future product development.

Marketing Plan and Strategy

  • Proactively recommend a product plan and a roadmap to support the marketing plan. Define the business case including the channel and sourcing/manufacturing plan for each new product initiative.
  • Recommend the plan for existing SKUs as part of product management lifecycle management

Financial Analysis and Project Viability

  • Assist in the development of business cases for new projects.

Expense Management

  • Assist in the development and management of budgets for all new product initiatives.

 

Requirements

  • University Degree in Marketing and/or Business Management
  • Three years of experience in a Marketing capacity
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Capable of maintaining motivation and determination with little to no supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
  • Strong and flexible organizational skills to meet changing demands and priorities
  • Strong skills in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong Project Management skills including knowledge of Microsoft Project 2010
