Precast concrete product manufacturer established in 1974: Residential and commercial septic, holding & pump tanks & accessories; wastewater and rainwater treatment systems.

 

Job Profile 

  • Position is mobile crane truck driving to make deliveries to contractors and job sites, and winter / seasonal truck general maintenance; Yard duties and precast concrete production work when not out on deliveries.
  • Operate company vehicles & equipment in a professional, safe and courteous manner (Manual transmission crane truck vehicles)
  • Practice safety precautions to protect self and others. Abide by all rules and laws of the road
  • Daily circle check reports and upkeep of company vehicles, including general maintenance (greasing of truck & Boom/ HIAB) and cleanliness of cabs. Adheres to company Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • HIAB articulating crane operation by remote control; includes on-board control operations if required
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections, prepare and transport cranes
  • Conducts MTO vehicle and crane driver checks; Maintains Driver’s logbook
  • Prepares truck and crane for safe transport:
  • Calculate truck capacity and axle weights carefully
  • Calculate crane capacity and weights carefully
  • Plan lifts and performing rigging o Set up and operate crane(s)
  • Prepares truck & crane for safe transport;
  • Loading of concrete tanks on to crane truck deck Unloading of concrete tanks into prepared excavation
  • Advise management of any vehicle and/or lifting device maintenance concerns as required
  • Ensures reported vehicle and/or lifting device issues are corrected prior to further operation
  • Picks and verifies customer orders for delivery
  • Enjoys working with customers; Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner to customers and sub trades at job sites

  • Communicates well with co-workers to manage and ensure the safety of those on the ground working near your machinery
  • Steady work record & dependable attendance required
  • Willing and able to work some overtime and occasional overnight travel as needed
  • The Company delivery schedule is different every single day; when our drivers are not out on deliveries they assist the concrete production team:
  • Assist in yard and/or production with related duties and/or concrete production
  • Picking & Loading customer pickups; Pump/other tank assembly support
  • Production duties may involve yarding finished products, welding and positioning of rebar and/or wire mesh; Filling molds & removing castings; Quality checking products

Qualifications 

  • A-Z license Required, or o D-Z with A endorsement near completion and/or willing to obtain
  • Hoisting Engineer: Mobile Crane Operator BR-2 May train apprentice Hoisting Engineer BR2 who is near completion, or the right dedicated & enthusiastic person who is already certified with 0-8 ton/Mobile Crane Operator Trade Certification. Experienced and certified 0-8 ton/Mobile Crane Operator must meet hours requirement and be able to train for 339C Challenge Exam
  • Driver’s validity license check required: clean drivers abstract & CVOR check
  • Steady work record & dependable attendance required.
  • Valid forklift operator’s ticket – will train
  • WHMIS & Lockout Training – will train
  • Completion of high school; Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or applicable technical training
  • Experience: 2 years to 5 years

 

Other Job Requirements & Physical Capabilities

  • Crane truck operators / authorized vehicle operators shall notify the Company immediately of any material or substantial change/s in the status of their driver’s license
  • Must love our customers; Enjoys working with customers
  • Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner when on the job-site
  • Regular hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 4:30 with a fifteen-minute break in the morning, a 30-minute lunch break and a fifteen-minute break in the afternoon

 

Delivery, Crane Truck Driver 

  • Some overtime and occasional overnight travel; reduced winter hours 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Dependable attendance is required
  • Overhead crane and\or welding experience considered a definite asset
  • Physically demanding – must be able to regularly lift 80-100 lbs
  • Works indoors and outdoors; weather conditions will vary
  • May be sitting or standing for extended periods
  • Capability to plan and organize tasks; Attention to detail; Works well under pressure; Manual dexterity & hand-eye coordination
  • Speak English, Read English, Write English
  • Works well independently and with a great team
  • Compensation based on experience

 

Working Conditions 

Drivers and Concrete plant staff work both outdoors and indoors at tasks that are fast paced and strenuous- weather conditions will vary. Outdoor work can be affected by adverse weather conditions. This position will require working indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold with rain to very hot and humid.

The noise level in the work environment is intermittently moderate to high.

 

Transportation Information

  • Hard hats, protective clothing & equipment and safety boots/shoes (1-pair per calendar year) supplied
  • Own reliable transportation required (not bus stop accessible)
  • Valid driver’s license, Drive manual transmission vehicle
