Our client does new base building and tenant consulting engineering work for a wide variety of clients and projects. Due to business growth, they need to add to their mechanical tenant team in Toronto.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Consulting Engineering firm and take advantage of the exciting opportunities that their growth is providing.



  • Responsibility for the design and successful implementation of all HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and controls for a variety of commercial tenant projects
  • Actively participate in business development through strengthening existing client relationships and developing new ones
  • Manage project performance by creating and executing project work plans being actively engaged in on-site work, including installation, commissioning, and testing and providing monthly reports as required and tracking quality issues
  • Maintain project management integrity by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Develop system engineering concepts, concept reports and construction budgets
  • Prepare schedule of tasks required to complete project, man-hours to perform tasks and critical data required for performance
  • Attend and coordinate meetings with clients and the design team
  • Review contract documents prior to tender for completeness. Ensure proper coordination of documents with the other design disciplines
  • Prepare all change notices or review change notices issued by site administrator
  • Prepare all calculations, delegating as appropriate. Select all equipment
  • Visit site to review technical content of project
  • Oversee the complete design and equipment selection for the mechanical service and distribution systems


  • Ideally, you are a PEng or CET or actively pursuing same
  • You possess 5 or more years of current Canadian project engineering experience in the field of mechanical building services
  • Ideally your experience includes both tenant fit-out and new base build projects
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently
  • The ability to work in a complex environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients
  • Possess sound communications skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations
  • Experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects
  • Knowledgeable regarding provincial building code, ASHRAE, CSA and NFPA standards
  • Display strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
