Senior Engineer, Mechanical Retrofit

Role

* Business Development – Work to develop new, strong, ongoing client relationships

* Responsibility for the design and successful implementation of all retrofit work

* Supervise, develop, mentor and grow the mechanical engineering retrofit team

* Manage project performance by creating and executing project work plans being actively engaged in on-site work, including installation, commissioning, and testing and providing monthly reports as required and tracking quality issues

* Attend and coordinate meetings with clients and the design team

* Review contract documents prior to tender for completeness. Ensure proper coordination of documents with the other design disciplines

* Review codes and obtain preliminary approvals where appropriate

* Prepare all calculations, delegating as appropriate. Select all equipment

* Visit site to review technical content of project

 

Requirements

* You are currently registered with the PEO as a Professional Engineer

* You possess 10 or more years of current Canadian project engineering experience in the field of mechanical building services

* Your experience in the last 5 or more years is focused in projects for large building boiler and chiller replacement projects

* Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently

* The ability to work in a complex environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients

* Possess sound communications skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations

* Experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects

* Knowledgeable regarding provincial building code, ASHRAE, CSA and NFPA standards

* Display strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks

* Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

* LEED certification / Experience implementing sustainable design (LEED projects) is an asset
