PMC Specialist Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable Steel manufacturer in the GTA. We are recruiting a Senior System Administrator to provide their employees with extensive and complete assistance in any issues they may have concerning information system technology.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and audit appropriate technical systems controls and security
  • Perform preventative maintenance (OS patches/updates), general repair, installation and troubleshooting of PC’s, Network, network devices, Servers, Printers, UPS Equipment
  • Develop and implement setup/configuration and test procedures, equipment failure reporting, PM audit controls (i.e. virus scans, O/S updates) and related technical documentation/standards of network, network devices, LAN, and PC’s
  • Maintain and enforce all related IT Procedures and Standards
  • Prepare operating maintenance budgets for IT Infrastructure
  • Provide support for telecommunication systems
  • Maintain up to date technical documentation/standards of network, network devices, LAN’s, WAN, and PC’s
  • Monitor performance and reliability of the network and servers on a regular basis and implement changes in order to improve or maintain required network response under established procedures
  • Liaise with outside firms for system hardware and network consulting and procurement
  • Maintain systems through upgrades, daily system monitoring and provide end user assistance
  • Travel as required to perform company duties
  • Enforce full compliance on 3rd party software licensing
  • Assist in IT infrastructure projects, budgeting, and implementations
  • Manage hardware & software assets, third-party services and vendor relationships
  • Provide first-level helpdesk support and troubleshooting for the IT group
  • Monitor performance and reliability of network and servers on a regular basis
  • Assist in establishing and auditing of appropriate system controls and security.



  • Ability to work with multi faceted individuals
  • Valid Driver’s License and have a vehicle available to travel to other sites/branches in Ontario or the U.S.
  • Valid Passport and be allowed to travel into the U.S., Mexico or other countries
  • Heavy lifting computers, printers, and server
  • Required to repair equipment at heights
  • Minimum 3 years community college diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of computer networks, data communications, server operations, operating systems, system management activities, Microsoft products, Windows PC applications, computer hardware and Internet technologies
  • Good negotiation skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Superior proactive problem solving and analytical ability
  • Proven decision-making & conceptual skills
  • Able to contend with a fast-paced environment, multiple tasks & stress, handling everything with professionalism
  • Ability to read, analyze & interpret statistical reports & legal documents
